I just wanted to say “thank you” KUT, Kickboxers Ultimate Training! The workouts are different from any workouts I’ve ever done! Before I started Kickboxers Ultimate Training I felt frumpy and could never quite get to where I wanted to be. After KUT I feel like I’m almost there! I feel more fit, a lot healthier, and am excited about my new eating habits.
I recently took a trip to Mammoth for New Years. I’ve been going to Mammoth since I was 8, skiing at least two weekends a month all through high school. I grew up, went to college, got married and had four kids (now ages 18, 16, 15 and 13). For the past 15 years I can’t remember a time when we went to Mammoth and I wasn’t out of breath just unpacking the car due to the altitude, not to mention skiing hard the first day only to be so sore and tired the second and third days.
Leading up to ski season I would always train for triathlons, on century bike rides or 10k races, thinking that would do the trick when I got on my skis in December or January, but to no avail. I signed up for KUT in January 2015 and been doing kickboxing and power bands ever since. In fact I got my muscle toning in through bands classes. Usually I’m just a cardio girl!
December of 2015 I turned 50. We went to Mammoth a week later and I skied 9:30 to 4:00 five days in a row with my kids!!! I wasn’t sore (well my calves were sore a little) and I didn’t get tired. My legs and the rest of me just kept going!! I took the last chair up at 4:00p.m!! Normally I’m in by 3:00 and dead on the couch!! What I’m trying to say is that kickboxing and bands have done that!! I Lost 11 pounds, 18 overall inches with KUT.
And I’m so excited that at 50 I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been and I’m keeping up with my kids on top of the mountain and everywhere else, all day for four to five days! Some days they came in ahead of me! Woo hoo! My biggest lesson was consistency. Stay with it – it works! At times I didn’t think the workouts were hard enough, but really they were working in areas I’ve never worked before!
I just wanted to say thanks for kicking my butt into shape! And it’s been fun! Thanks to all the great instructors who keep us motivated and always have a smile when we walk in the door!
